Beautiful family, beautiful beach, glad I was able to remove the innocent bystanders:) Oh wait, I think the only innocent ones were in the picture, Mr. Jingle Ball Rock sadly had to be removed so that we keep this blog family friendly! A little inside fun for one of my favorite families who were great sports for an interesting family day at the beach!
I hope this helps...enjoy and we will chat soon!

Hello to all! It has been a while, far too long! I have been working on some exciting new projects that I will excitedly share hopefully soon!!! The school year is coming to an end and days seem more exciting knowing that an abundance of good times are near! (it sounds silly and shouldn't be the case, each day should be filled with abundant joy but it just seems sweeter with the sound of summer!) I have had lots of families wanting to book summer sessions before schedules become impossible!
If you are wanting to book a summer session (with all that the sweetness only summer can bring...bright dresses, warm air, tanned bodies, breezy evenings and the most. beautiful. light of the year!) please contact me right away as I am taking a few weeks off to enjoy my own family and with that being said, my schedule is not as flexible as I would like it to be! I also have a few specials going for those that want to book a summer session but realize that fall portraits are never far ahead, contact me for details on that!
I want to share this sweet family, one of my favorite sessions because they are just glowing with love for one another! They also happen to be some of the nicest people I have ever met! I already miss them but I have a feeling I may be seeing them again very, VERY soon;)
If you would like to book a session for your family or if you were hoping for some updated photos of your children or if you are pregnant and would like some maternity photos taken by a professional maternity photographer or if you would like to have a professional photographer take pictures of your newborn or if you are or know a high school senior needing senior portraits, please contact us at jaime@jaimemichelle.com to book your session and for more information!

March is here and so are the rainy days! It has been so crazy to watch the weather change from day to day lately! Each morning my kids wake up and ask, "Mommy, will it be a rainy day today? Or a sunny day? Or is it going to be cold and windy or should I wear a dress? Mommy, last week the man on the news said it was going to snow-- should I wear my snow hat and boots?" "Ummmmm....well, honey, I am not sure so lets just dress in layers and then we'll empty out your 'treasures' from your backpack so that you have room to stuff it will all the layers in case the sun comes out:)." "Okay, but can I wear flip flops?" "Hmmmmm..."
Seriously, the question of the day! This is one of the many reasons that I love living in Northern California! However, it doesn't always make being a photographer in California the most convenient job! I typically book outdoor sessions with most of my clients because I love to use natural light and I adore the beautiful surroundings here in the east bay! Even indoor sessions don't often work with rainy days because the light that normally seaps into a home is gloomy and dark. HOWEVER.... the sunny days are so glorious it is SO worth waiting for! Photographing children outdoors with sunlight that just follows everywhere you go and lights up eyes that already twinkle....I love that!!!
My favorite shooting locations in the east bay are scattered around and I love to find new ones! I most often shoot in Danville or Pleasanton, and sometimes Lafayette and Moraga among others (walnut creek, alamo, diablo, blackhawk, orinda, oakland, san jose, san ramon, and san francisco to name a few). I do travel and look forward to shooting in new locations scouted out by my clients-- both in the east bay, Northern California, and nationwide!

With Valentines just around the corner I am having so much fun with handsome little boys dressing up for my camera and little girls bringing nothing less than their fanciest for a shoot! I just wanted to thank all the families that participated in the Valentine Mini Sessions! It is never too often to photograph your little one in all his/her/their glory!
Here is a little bit from a session with 3 boys!!! Wow! They were so fun and very well behaved! I just love to see the connection of brothers and although they naturally play it "cool" you can see the love that just can't be denied!

Although it's gloomy outside days like today warm my heart. My kids walked in the door today, grabbed their sweats and a bowl of popcorn and curled up for an after-school movie! I love that. They are nestled all together, keeping each other warm and laughing out loud at the silly scenes of the movie. I'm waiting anxiously for the movie to wrap so that we can get our game on for the big event....Monopoly (round 357)!
I wanted to also mention that I have only one Saturday time slot remaining for the Valentine minis and only a couple for the Wed. slots. Please email me if you are interested! jaime@jaimemichelle.com

BOO! Didn't think I'd be here today, did ya? I have myself to thank for that as I have not been the best blogger in a while.....! Anyway, if you are here then you may have already seen my big news but in the case you haven't..........
NEW SITE IS LAUNCHED!!!! Yes! We thought we'd kick off 2011 with a new, fresh look! Please visit us at www.jaimemichelle.com to check it out! I am more than thrilled and have worked really hard to push through what were supposed to be my days "off" and get these new looks not just in the works but launched! WE DID IT!!!!! YEAH!!!! SO EXCITING!!! It wouldn't look nearly as great without all of the beautiful faces you may find.....for that......thank you for sharing your families with me!!!
I really love my job and people often ask me many questions about what I do and how I got "started". Then we often discuss the benefits of being a photographer and I gush about getting to live my dreams of being #1 a mom #2 a job that I have total control over so that I can be #1 first! What I rarely discuss is the countless hours I spend in front of my computer both day and night and everything else that goes into running a photography business. Perhaps someday I will do an entire post on running a photography business but I just wanted to briefly mention that my being away from the blog is not because I don't enjoy talking jibberish (because it is actually quite therapeutic and I quite adore it!) but that as many of you know, for your own reasons different than mine, there are just not enough hours in the day!!!
I am making a conscious effort to make each day something wonderful. You hear people all the time talking about blackberries running their lives and technology sucking up hours and days and weeks. Well, I don't want to wake up one morning to find my kids grown and all I have is work. SO, today, I am making a public announcement that I am going to give my BEST effort to better time manage! I will be in and around and about and if you are worried because I have been away too long...please pick up the phone and give me a call--I would love that!!!!
That being said, I just got a delivery....school's out and I have three kids roaming who just got home and they are looking for food! Please enjoy your families today and every day, they are worth living for and giving your full attention-- isn't attention the greatest gift anyway!

Whewwwwww! The season of crazy has come and gone and I am finding myself perfectly content with not even turning on my computer! Until that is....I have to pay the dreaded Christmas bill:( Serioiusly, my little guy got a fabulous train set from Santa and it is the kind that link magnetically. Any of you who have little boys in your life know exactly what I am talking about! Well, you know how the magnets practically grab each other when you link them correctly? Yes, we all know that. And what happens when you link the wrong ends.....they magically force each other away! I know that there is some scientific reasoning behind all of this but my mind has a hard time recalling what day it is let alone some term I may or may not have learned (depending on my level of participation in class) back in physics class! Anyway, I kinda feel that force when I step near my friendly Mac.
Today I would much rather hang out with my kids and tear through all the new goodies! Last night my eight year old creamed me at monopoly....I assure you that it was not skill but she must have had an angel on her shoulder who seemed to think it would be funny to watch me suffer. As Elle rolled double after double and happened to draw every card that voted her "best plumber in town" (it is super mario bros version) I, on the other hand, went to jail just about every round and had to pay for broken pipes and such! The joys of defeat....makes you stronger, right? ;)
I am here today wanting to thank the families who shared their "holiday magic" with me! I truly enjoyed my time with my clients this year. It always amazes me how much people change in a year and it's like making new friends all over again! I met lots of new families and am thankful for those opportunities as well! I will be sharing bits and pieces from this falls sessions here on the blog once I return and open up shop once again on January 12th! I will have someone answering email and booking new appointments, however, no appointments will be scheduled prior to January 12th! Newborns are always an exception, as they cannot wait;) so please contact us ASAP to discuss details for any newborn appointments!
With that, I will leave you with a giant HAPPY NEW YEAR and a few images....(always images;)....

One of my most favorite parts of my job is getting to meet families and see how their world turns. When it comes to family there is no "norm" and I LOVE that! I want to share this sweet family I photographed last week. They were so full of love for one another it made my heart fill with joy just being in their presence. Life is like a roller coaster, constantly going up and down, but when you are surrounded by love their is A) no denying it B) no avoiding it C) no way to not put a smile on your face!
