The holidays are just around the corner and I can't wait! This is my favorite time of year. Fall is definately upon us and I can sense Christmas is well on its way! The trees are so beautiful, full of colors of orange and red and yellow- I LOVE it!!!! For those of you who haven't noticed I want to encourage you to start your day off tomorrow with a breath of fresh fall air and take a moment to stop and notice the beauty of the season before it is gone. Then there is Target...my home away from home as sad as that is! I can barely make it through the door and my kids are running to the dollar section to see what's made it into the bins since the day before! Everything HOLIDAY! ...and the lists begin...SANTA watch out! My wish for my children is to find the meaning of the season and GIVE, GIVE, GIVE! Each year I take my kids to the dollar store to do their own shopping. They draw names out of a hat and they get to pick out gifts for their chosen family members. To carry on tradition we will do the same this year but I am going to add something new. This year the kids will each come up with a list of things they could do to help others have a special day (anything that doesn't cost money) and each day of the month they will pick something off the list. What ways can you make this a special season to share with your family? I urge you to try something new, and give your kids something to look forward to other than finding a stocking full of goodies!
